When can I redeem my free trial?
You can sign up for a complimentary trial of SCMP Plus starting on April 29, 2024, until further notice.
Will I get charged automatically after the free trial?
After your free trial has ended you will automatically start on a 1-year subscription to SCMP Plus and your credit card will be charged. We will remind you 7 days before your free trial ends via email.
If you are a current digital subscriber, once your free trial ends you will no longer be able to access the content on SCMP Plus unless you upgrade to an SCMP Plus subscription or a Bundle Subscription.
I have signed up for the SCMP Plus free trial, why can't I access it?

Why am I receiving the masked version of Daily Pulse?
The Daily Pulse is a product feature exclusive to SCMP Plus. Only SCMP Plus trialists or subscribers can receive the full version of Daily Pulse newsletters. If you are not a SCMP Plus subscriber or trialist, you can only receive a masked version of the newsletter.
If you have previously signed up for the SCMP Plus free trial, please ensure that you have followed the procedures in the email invitation to activate your free trial and you can enjoy a 1-month free trial of SCMP Plus.

What subscription plans are available for SCMP Plus?
You will be able to subscribe to SCMP Plus for a 1-month, 1-year or 2-year subscription. As part of your digital subscription, you will also have complimentary access to scmp.com and SCMP ePaper - a digital replica of our daily print edition.
How much does SCMP Plus cost?

How do I sign up for the Daily Pulse newsletter?
When you sign up for an SCMP Plus free trial or subscribe to SCMP Plus, you will automatically be signed up for the Daily Pulse newsletter. However, if your SCMP Plus free trial or subscription ends, your Daily Pulse subscription will also be terminated.
Can I sign up for Daily Pulse without subscribing to SCMP Plus, or vice versa?
The Daily Pulse is a product feature exclusive to SCMP Plus. Only SCMP Plus trialists or subscribers can receive the full version of Daily Pulse newsletters.
How do I unsubscribe from the Daily Pulse newsletter?
Click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter.
Can I access SCMP Plus in the SCMP app?
Yes, you can access SCMP Plus content in the SCMP app.
However, for in-app subscribers, the trial period would only be available from 29 April 2024 to 30 June 2024, regardless of your activation date.
If my standard SCMP subscription expires, can I still take advantage of the SCMP Plus free trial?
No, if your standard SCMP subscription expires, you will not be able to access the SCMP Plus free trial.
If I am a SCMP Plus subscriber, will I have access to the SCMP digital subscription as well?
As a subscriber to SCMP Plus you will also have access to scmp.com and complimentary access to SCMP ePaper - a digital replica of our daily print edition.
What are the accepted payment methods?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit/debit cards for payment.
Which currencies do you accept?
We accept HK dollars, US dollars, Singapore Dollar, and Malaysian Ringgit. If you are located in countries that use currencies other than the ones mentioned above, we will charge you in US dollars.
Do I need to pay a foreign transaction fee?
You may be subject to a foreign transaction fee if your credit card company has one. We advise you to check with your bank first.
What currency exchange rate will I be charged?
The currency exchange rate is subject to your credit card provider or bank that you used to purchase your subscription.
Why am I still seeing ads after paying for a subscription?
SCMP Plus pages provide you with an ad-free experience. However, it does not allow for an ad-free experience in SCMP.com and the app.

Cancel your digital subscription

- Click on the three-dot button at the right end of your subscription information.
- Click "Cancel subscription".
- Follow the steps online to cancel your subscription.
Bundle subscriptions
With an SCMP Bundle Print + digital subscription, you will get full access including Print, ePaper, SCMP Plus, SCMP.com and the SCMP app. The newspaper will be delivered to your home or office without additional delivery fee in most areas in Hong Kong.
